Why do I have to pay an exchange fee at my home resort?

Actually it is not an internal exchange fee, it’s a developer exchange fee. Any time you change the dates or location of your resort, you are required to pay a developer exchange fee, currently equal to $130 ($140 as of 9/1/10). Some exchanges require an additional seasonal upgrade fee. This is a service provided through the CFI Resorts Management Company; it is not part of the Association or purchase agreement. This was disclosed to you on your Acknowledgment of Representations document signed upon purchasing your timeshare.
